Fusion vocalist, Hamed Nikpay is returning to Tirgan Festival with a new world-class musical band to perform some of his popular hits along with new tunes and rendition.The performance will include selection of songs from the body of his work included in his albums and his singles arranged with a new sound as well as improvisations with the members of Band.  Singer and multi-instrumentalist songwriter Hamed Nikpay has been at the forefront of creating and performing fusion world music for many years. In his concert, Hamed Nikpay performs songs from his body of work in the last decade as well as a few trailblazing compositions he has recently recorded in collaboration with other artists called “Sufi Funk” or “Persian/Iranian Sufi Funk”.Hamed Nikpay coined the term “Sufi Funk” to introduce a new form of fusion music with strong elements of Sufism and mysticism of the East; infused and enriched with diverse melodies of African culture. Hamed Nikpay brings the best of the Middle East and North Africa into the Western context on stage for a complete cultural mosaic formulated in his musical pilgrimage into the world of “Sufi Funk”.Hamed Nikpay’s concert in Tirgan Festival 2019 introduces a new genre to the world music scene and will be performed masterfully by a live band of world-renowned international musicians. The Band includes Dan Sistos, who in addition to directing the ensemble, will be playing Electric and Acoustic Guitar, Albert Abis on Bass, and Edoardo Tancredi on Drums. The vocals will be by Hamed Nikpay, who will also play Oud, Tanbour, and Electric Guitar. The guest musician is Leo Chekiapov on Doduk, Clarint, and Saxophone. Tirgan Festival proudly presents a live performance of “Hamed Nikpay Band” and invites you to an exciting musical experience set at the heart of Tirgan Festival 2019.
